Presenter Bios:
Dr. Lori Brotto, PhD is a Professor in the UBC Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and a Registered Psychologist in Vancouver, Canada. She has been the Executive Director of the Women’s Health Research Institute of BC located at BC Women’s Hospital since 2016. Dr. Brotto holds a Canada Research Chair in Women’s Sexual Health. She is the author of Better Sex Through Mindfulness: How Women Can Cultivate Desire and The Better Sex Through Mindfulness Workbook (October 2022).
Sarah Miller, MDiv, RP (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist in private practice in Toronto with a focus on queer and trans clients, and those questioning sexuality and/or gender identity. She is a graduate of the Gestalt Training Program. Her primary modalities are EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Intimacy from the Inside Out and Sex Therapy. Sarah previously worked as United Church clergy. Proudly bisexual, her work is informed by the experience of queering spirituality, psychotherapy, parenting and activism. Sarah is passionate about front yard vegetable gardens, reproductive rights, death positivity and knitting.
Betty Ann McPherson, MA is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Masters in Counselling Psychology, a Certified Traumatologist, and a professional member of EMDR Canada. Betty Ann is also a member of the World Professional Associate for Transgender Health (WPATH), and a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS). Betty Ann has been helping individuals, couples and families for the last 20 years.
Sarah Siddiqui, MEd, is a Registered Psychotherapist. Before pursuing psychotherapy, Sarah earned an Honours BA from the University of Toronto in world religions, theatre studies, and sexual diversity studies. Sarah was a sex educator for over 8 years, working as a peer sexual health educator, at a feminist sex store, and as an abortion counsellor. Sarah strives to foster a practice that is anti-racist and anti-oppressive, as well as queer; trans; kink; non-monogamy; and sex work affirming.
