We are pleased to announce that ASTO now has a scholarship fund!

The scholarship is for members with financial barriers and can be requested for: meeting fees, supervision fees towards certification hours, annual dues, and SAR tuition.

The scholarship can also be used by non-members to attend a first meeting to get a sense of the organization for a maximum of one meeting for non-members.

The scholarship will evaluate financial need by self identified financial context using a descriptive sliding scale model and prioritizes those from historically marginalized groups.

Applications will be reviewed twice a year with application deadlines of: February 15 and September 15.

The application can be found here.

We are open to any suggestions and feedback on this new process. Please email us at ASTOEDIcommittee@gmail.com with your comments.

This fund honours the work of Irene Jane Oudyk-Suk, a long time ASTO member who held several leadership roles, including Treasurer and Secretary, and was instrumental in drafting the ASTO Constitution.  Irene’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion was evident in all parts of her life, particularly in her distinguished clinical work with intercultural couples.

Through this award, we continue Irene’s legacy by supporting accessibility to education and training to the next generation of sex therapists.
